Crude oil prices jumped more than 2%, with Brent rising toward $107.51 and WTI trading around $102.32, as fresh attacks in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf raised concerns over global energy supply.
The latest catalyst came after Saudi Arabia’s East-West pipeline was shut following a drone attack. The pipeline is strategically important because it allows Saudi crude exports to bypass the Strait of Hormuz, making it a key alternative route during periods of regional instability.
A prolonged outage could threaten flows equivalent to as much as 4% of global oil supply, increasing concerns that the market may face tighter supply conditions if disruptions persist. This is especially important because shipping through the Strait of Hormuz has already been disrupted by the ongoing U.S.–Iran conflict.
Adding to market concerns, fresh reports of a vessel being struck in the Strait of Hormuz reinforced fears that energy shipments remain vulnerable. The incident highlighted that even if the waterway is technically open, shipping confidence remains weak as security risks continue to affect vessel movement.
At the same time, risks have also spread beyond the Gulf. Iran-aligned Houthi forces have increased pressure around the Red Sea and Bab el-Mandeb route, creating another potential disruption point for global oil flows and trade. This means energy markets are now facing pressure from both sides of the Arabian Peninsula.
Diplomatic progress also remains limited. A planned regional meeting involving Iran and Gulf states over the Strait of Hormuz proposal was postponed, reducing hopes for a quick solution to the shipping disruptions.
Oil prices had already gained more than 8% last week, supported by rising fears over Middle East energy security. With the Strait of Hormuz, Saudi export infrastructure, and Red Sea routes all facing disruption risks, traders are continuing to price in a strong geopolitical risk premium.
Overall, crude oil remains biased to the upside as long as supply risks across key Middle East routes remain unresolved. Markets will continue to monitor Saudi pipeline repairs, Hormuz shipping flows, Red Sea security risks, and any renewed diplomatic progress for the next major trading signal.

Crude oil prices are trading higher, currently testing the 104.75 resistance level, which acts as a key near-term breakout zone.
A confirmed breakout above 104.75 could suggest further upside toward the next resistance level at 114.15, reinforcing the bullish structure.
However, momentum indicators suggest caution. The MACD is showing diminishing bullish momentum, while the RSI at 71 has entered overbought territory, indicating that crude oil may experience a short-term technical correction if the breakout fails.
If bullish momentum weakens, crude oil may retrace and retest the 92.85 support level, followed by 80.35 if selling pressure intensifies.
Resistance Levels: 104.75, 114.15
Support Levels: 92.85, 80.35
